With the help of United Karenni Insurance Group, we applied for insurance for $20,000 in January 2021. Only 4 months later (to be precise, on April 14, 2021), Neh passed away. For her life insurance, she paid 84.49 monthly for 4 months only. So, in total, she had paid 337.96 for her life insurance policy when she passed away.

We waited for 3 months to get a final decision from Americo life insurance company. The company came back with a decision. They decided that they could only give 338.43 (that is the total of all the premiums she had paid for the policy). Again, she only got a check of 338.43. She did not get the 20,000.

In the insurance policy, there is a rule called “contestability period”. So, they contested the claims, and only gave her her own money back.
